Whether you’re preparing for WWST’s upcoming season or looking to sharpen your audition skills, this hands-on workshop will give you practical tools you can use immediately. Led by WWST Artistic Director Tyson Kaup and Music Director Mitchell Brownell, this session will cover:

• What directors and music directors are really looking for
• How to choose and prepare the right material
• Vocal presentation and musical interpretation
• Confident slate, presence, and first impressions
• Common audition mistakes — and how to avoid them
• Live coaching and feedback in a supportive environment

Participants will have the opportunity to perform a short audition cut and receive individualized feedback. Come prepared with 16–32 bars of a musical theater song and sheet music in the correct key (if performing). Students who prefer to observe rather than perform are also welcome to register. Observers will gain valuable insight by watching live coaching and participating in discussion. Spots are limited, pre-registration recommended.
