 We Support Downtown.

The Downtown Walla Walla Foundation considers it our purpose, pleasure, and honor to support downtown businesses, building owners, and our community.

Throughout the Covid-19 crisis, we have supported our businesses and community in partnership with our friends at the City of Walla Walla, the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce, and many other municipalities and organizations throughout our community. Here are a few of our accomplishments during this challenging time.

 

  • We expanded outdoor seating options for our restaurants and tasting rooms. Expanded seating includes the Plaza on First, eleven streateries, and several parklets for tasting room clusters.

  • We have held over 20 Business Resource Town Halls, connecting our businesses with the experts and resources they needed.

  • Helped our small businesses apply for and receive over $1 million in grants.

  • We collaborated with 13 other agencies throughout our region to create and launch the Think Local shopping campaign.

  • We distributed over 200 bottles of hand sanitizer and 20,000 face masks to area businesses.

  • We successfully ran the Downtown Farmers Market under Covid-19 restrictions, with sales of just over $200,000 for the year and zero transmissions traced to the market.

  • We have launched the Hometown Heroes banner program, celebrating Walla Walla veterans and active military on our Main Street.

  • We held the first Walla Walla Brewfest, bringing over 750 people to Main Street to celebrate Walla Walla’s second-favorite beverage!

We hope next year will look a little more familiar, and in the meantime, we’re proud of our efforts this year. Join us! Become a Friend of Downtown Walla Walla and help ensure this list of accomplishments grows in support of our businesses and downtown community.

 We are excited to launch the Friends of Downtown Walla Walla! This model will allow our existing members to support us at a lower cost while opening up the opportunity to many more people. We are creating the Friends of Downtown Walla Walla to celebrate and support our thriving downtown community. With a gift of $99, you will become a “friend” of Downtown Walla Walla. Between now and December 31, when you become a friend and make your tax-deductible gift through the Blue Mountain Foundation, All In WA will match your gift. We love our downtown, and we need your support to continue its vibrancy.
