The Last Class is an intimate portrait of master educator and former Labor Secretary Robert Reich as he teaches his final course after more than 40 years and 40,000 students. Reflecting on a lifetime of change, Reich faces aging and closure with honesty and emotion, revealing a vulnerability he’s never shown publicly before.
Through his celebrated “Wealth and Poverty” class, Reich examines the widening gap between rich and poor since the late 1970s and its threat to society. Before a full UC Berkeley lecture hall, he delivers a final, heartfelt call for his students—and the next generation—to believe in their power to create a fairer world.
